The Martinez Family

2023

We believe that children belong in families. At Project RED, healthy families are our goal! For this reason, we do all we can to help families build their capacities and provide safe and loving homes for their children.

We receive case referrals from our government partners, including children’s judges and child welfare institutions. Our team of social workers and psychologists assesses the specific needs and situation of each family and creates an individualized plan, containing goals and strategies that are catered to each family’s needs, which are implemented over the course of one to four years.

Using trauma-informed approaches, our team of practitioners walks alongside families as they help to facilitate the elements they need in order to break the cycle of poverty as they achieve self-sufficiency.

We facilitate a variety of services for families, including counseling, therapy, parenting classes, educational support, spiritual support and medical care. Additionally, we provide important needs for families such as beds, scholarships, running water, electricity and even the construction of homes for some qualifying families.

RED stands for…

R

We provide for the basic physical and material needs of the children and families we serve. Simultaneously, we facilitate opportunities for a more emotionally and spiritually positive environment in each home. We work to set the stage for individual and family transformation, which helps to create lasting change.

E

Because access to education in El Salvador is limited, we help to facilitate life-changing learning opportunities for children, teens and even adults. We also educate entire families and provide the tools for creating healthy, Christ-centered environments in each home.

D

Due to the complexity and diversity of the problems faced by the families at RED, we create and execute individualized intervention plans in order to improve the physical, economic, spiritual and emotional conditions of each family.
